5 Ways To Dress Modestly & Stay On Trend This Winter
Winter is officially here, and while the freezing cold weather may not be one of my favourite things, the season does bring about some modest-friendly items such as oversized hoodies, chunky knit jumpers, and cosy jackets, making dressing modestly that much easier. Finding the items themselves may be a cinch, but constantly coming up with new outfits that can keep you warm AND look stylish at the same time? Now that’s where things start to get a bit tricky.
We’ve compiled a list of 5 of the best modest outfits for winter and included some of our top styling advice so that you can dress to impress this winter. Treat yourself to some of these timeless pieces that can be mixed and matched to create an endless combination of outfits. We’ve tried to include an outfit for every occasion, from work to going out for brunch with your friends, so that no matter where you are, or what you’re doing, you can stay right on trend.
1. Smart/Casual
Coming up with new outfits everyday for work or school can be a pain, but with the right know-how you’ll be dreaming up outfits in your sleep! For this look, @sumayahaldakhee went for a fairly simple, but smart look with a pair of relaxed slacks and a bold monochrome sweater vest. Investing in staple pieces like these nude coloured slacks is key, as they can be worn with countless different items of clothing to create endless looks. For example, if you wanted to go for a more relaxed look, you could pair the slacks with a oversized cream coloured hoodie and finish it off with some white Air Force 1s.

2. Neutral Tones
Nude is the new black. If your anything like me, then you can never get enough of neutral-toned clothes! The warm, subtle colours are perfect for this time of year and are versatile enough to be worn with pretty much anything in your wardrobe. These essentials can be layered with other items you already own, or even with other items on this list. If your afraid of making the jump into bold colours, then neutral colours are an excellent way to slowly bring yourself round to wearing brighter and bolder colours.
Top Tip: The right accessories can take a fairly simple outfit and immediately transform it into something much more interesting. The Theodora Warre gold hoops, and the All Blues and Frederica Tosi rings, are perfect to add a bit of sparkle to your look.

4. Going out for Brunch
Unlock your inner fashionista with this chic, monochromatic look by @sumayahaldakheel. The addition of the beret gives the outfit a parisian feel to it, and is perfect for those brunch dates with your friends.
Top Tip: When accessorising, don’t be afraid to add sunglasses to your look as they can add a certain je ne sais quoi to your overall aesthetic. Nowadays, people rarely wear sunglasses just for the purpose of protecting your eyes from the sun. They are now seen as a fashion statement, due to the emergence of bold designs such as the Off White pair seen below.

You may be thinking that skirts can only be worn in the summer, but Nia, (@niaamroun), proves that skirts can be a part of your wardrobe all year long. Pairing a maxi-skirt with a big oversized knitted jumper will not only keep you super warm, but will also have you looking your best wherever you go.
Top Tip: For added warmth, you could layer up with a pair of leggings under the skirt and a thin, long sleeved jumper under your woolly one, or you could just finish off the look with your favourite long coat.
