The sustainable beauty products that we’re obsessed with

Recently I’ve been trying to incorporate more sustainable beauty products into my daily routine. If I’m being honest, it’s something I’ve been meaning to do for a while, but after watching some videos about it on YouTube I’ve felt somewhat inspired to curate a list of sustainable products myself.

While the products I’ve included in my list aren’t on there’s, their videos have served as inspiration on how to build my own recommended list. Below I have curated a range of sustainable beauty products for skincare, bodycare, haircare and makeup. I truly believe that as consumers we should be voting with our pockets and if you’re able to, support these independent brands. Each of these brands are actively incorporating sustainable business and manufacturing processes so if we’re giving these brands the attention they rightly deserve; hopefully this can encourage the big brands to follow suite.

If you want to find out more about sustainable beauty or if you like the look of one of these brands, I highly encourage you to visit their site and read up about them. You can also watch videos like the one below so that you can make more informed choices when you shop in the future too!

SUSTAINABLE HAIR & SKIN CARE // zero waste tips and eco products

Lets face it, shopping for sustainable beauty products isn’t an easy task. Unlike the sustainable clothing industry it’s easy to identify brands that adopt eco friendly practices. The sustainable beauty industry is often filled with complicated marketing messages, misleading promises and a substantial amount of greenwashing.

The good news is that adopting sustainable beauty products into your routine is quite easy if you know where to look. The products that I’ve curated for this blog all tackle sustainability in different ways. Some adopt carbon neutral methods, others adopt sustainable packaging strategies and some utilise minimalist formulas; but the great thing about sustainable beauty is that it offers us hundreds of different methods for reducing our adverse affects on the planet.

We are not saying that you need to toss out all of your existing products in favour of these ones, but incorporating some of these products into your daily routine is a fantastic way to minimise your impact on the environment.

About Organic Apoteke:
Skin minimalism or skinimalism might be a hot trend at the moment, but this always been on Organic Apoteke’s agenda. By taking the less is more approach and favouring fewer ingredients, they’ve been able to create a skin care line that is not only less harsh on your skin, it’s also better for the environment. I’m personally a fan of their hydrating face gels as it’s perfect for sensitive skin.

About Harlo:
Another approach to sustainability is the notion of carbon neutrality. At Harlo skin, all their products are produced in small batches to not only minimise waste, but to also ensure that the quality of their products are the best every time. Each product contains less than 12 ingredients and are free from ingredients like synthetics, cheap fillers, waxes, emulsifiers, palm oils and animal products. I love Harlo because of how transparent they are with their production processes and business practices.
