Tasting Notes The family domaine of Rolly-Gassmann whose roots date back to 1661 is located in Alsace’s Haut-Rhin village of Rorschwihr near Ribeauvillé. The estate practices organic viticulture and also works to biodynamic principles. Traditional in approach and with a wealth of excellent vineyard sites Gassmann is known for wines that possess a wonderful elegance softness and drinkability. This delicious wine comes from selected parcels in the commune of Rorschwihr. This area has clay marl and limestone soils in fact it possesses all 21 types of limestone known in the world so the wines created here have immense complexity. Bright crisp and crunchy like the garden after a frost it reveals hints of blossom daffodils toast peach apricot sorbet lemon zest and a salty sea breeze. Best enjoyed with flavoursome firm-flesh fish white meats grilled cheeses and spicy dishes.
