Description

Cotton gabardine, the innovative fabric used to make Burberry trench coats, was invented in 1879 by Thomas Burberry. Breathable, weatherproof and crease-resistant, it revolutionised rainwear – and is still woven at the Burberry mill in Yorkshire today. The durable fabric is put to good use on this shorter iteration of the classic outwear staple, which features check panelling to provide onlookers with a clue of its luxury origins.
