With winter fast approaching and the slow decline into frosty mornings and bitterly cold evenings having began, our attention is turned to autumn/winter fashion trends. A fantastic time of year for fashion, wrapping up in style is simple with so many great trends around this season. Inspired by the outstanding looks on the catwalk, we’ve rounded up the top fashion trends for Autumn/Winter 2015…

Wrapping up with fur…

A stylish, but oh so cosy winter trend, fur is everywhere this season, particularly super soft and fluffy shearling. Made from sheep wool or synthetic fibres, shearling was seen on jackets and coats and also topped boots and bags. Most popular in natural beige shades (which are easiest to wear,) shearling was also seen on catwalks such as Roksanda and Preen that had been dyed in bright colours, such as red and purple. Invest in a shearling winter coat this season, for an on trend ultra warm wrap up.

A bit of boho…

Back again in a big way, boho dominated on the catwalk and has filtered through the high street stores. Drawing inspiration from the 70s, we’re focusing on the folksy side of things this season. Prints are bold, fringing and lots of texture is key, as is layering and flowing material.

Try pairing a suede a-line skirt in earthy tones with a billowing printed blouse, finished off with a patch work cape and a fringed leather bag to nail this trend.

Electric 80s…

An 80s revival was inevitable after Olivier Rousteing’s Balman catwalk show. Featuring power shoulders, an awful lot of ruffles and electric toned metallics, it appeared the 80s was well and truly back. Translated a little differently by other designers, more subtle jewel-tones and lurex materials gave a nod to the 80s, making the trend more wearable. A lurex knit is a fantastic way to introduce a little 80s glamour into your wardrobe, try teaming with a jewel toned peplum skirt to up the 80s ante.

High rise necklines…

Perfect for this season, and great news for those who really feel the cold- polo-necks are back with a bang. Perfect for wearing under the on trend pinafores and dungrees, polo-necks also look great layered under a playsuit or with wide leg trousers.

Playing dress up…

Two trends of polar opposites, the catwalk saw ultra masculine styling, as well as overly feminine looks too. Masculine styling included wide leg trousers and boxy jackets, styled with simple tie-neck blouses and slicked back hair. On the flipside, other models were dolled up to the nines, in an almost child like way, in sugary pinks, full skirts, sparkles and pearls.Avoid mixing these trends together, and opt for an ultra masculine look, or choose the fantastically feminine.

A season of fashion clearly to be celebrated, there is such a variety for autumn/winter 2015 that there is something to suit each and every one of us. Fashion is fun for AW15, so have fun with it!
