More comfortable than skirts, cooler than dresses and more unique than almost any other clothing items: every woman must have jumpsuits in her wardrobe!

Styling Jumpsuits: 5 Dos and Don’ts

Do No.1: Small cut outs
Cut outs at the right places will instantly add more glam to your appearance, but make sure to focus on where and how big these cut outs are. In this case, less is definitely more!

Don’t…
Show too much. Instead of choosing a low back and deep cut jumpsuit, go with the one that has cut outs on the shoulders or the waist!

Do No.2: Go with the 70’s
Most of the jumpsuits these days are fitted, but if you like extraordinary clothing items, wider jumpsuits were made for you! The wide pants have a funky, retro vibe, but they also look very modern and fashion forward.

Don’t…
Go too oversized. Having a 70’s inspired jumpsuit is awesome, but jumpsuits that have both wide sleeves and pants don’t look flattering on any body type.

Do No.3.: Slim at the waist
If you are not a fan of the wider jumpsuits, go totally fitted and choose one with a high, slimmed waistline! Just like skirts and dresses, these types of jumpsuits will accentuate your figure and make your whole body look slim and more feminine.

Don’t…
…suffer from a too small size. We have probably all said “I will loose some weight and it will fit” sometime during our shopping, but a too-small waistline will only make you uncomfortable.

Do No.4: Play with colours and patterns!
Although it is easier to style a black or beige jumpsuit, don’t stick with these simple options and experiment with different colours and prints, such as aztec or floral print or a colorblock jumpsuit.  To pull your look together, choose simple accessories (infinity scarfs, white or beige bags and simple heels) that won’t steal the spotlight from your jumpsuit.

j4

Don’t…
…choose the jumpsuit with big, vertical stripes. They are very hard to pull off and they aren’t flattering for the most body types.  If you do, make sure to add some simple details to your outfit, such as a pastel wool coat and a big scarf.

Do No.5: Mix fabrics!
Adding a lace, leather or even fur detailing to your jumpsuit is just as important as if you were styling a traditional blouse-skirt combination! Playing with different fabrics will add more dimension to your look while keeping it interesting.

Don’t…
… choose a too dramatic jumpsuit, such as a fitted, full-on velvet or leather piece. Instead, experiment with more than one material to make your look more fun!
