Q. What/who was your influence when you started your own label?

I was always designing something special for myself, my family and friends. Starting my own label was my dream from my childhood, but before starting my label, I was working in a banks and in a different restaurants. Once I could save enough money  I finally started my label and now I’m very happy because I do what I like, and it is amazing that people like and wear what I create. What could be better?

Q. What have been your key inspirations for your design and concepts?

Inspiration  for my designs… I draw based on what I can see around. It can be countries which I lived in or visited, it can be people or one specific person, it can be feelings, but many other things as well.

Q. Are there enough opportunities for emerging designers to showcase their designs and enter this competitive industry?

Of course, why not? Customers always need something new and special, new mind, new wave. Of course world labels like Gucci, Prada, Chanel and etc. always will be leading in the fashion industry, but there are a lot of opportunities for young designers to show their creative mind in their collections. If designers have something interesting to introduce, their motivation will always lead them to this competitive industry.

Q. Is the fashion industry campaigning enough for boutique labels and recognising emerging talent?

The fashion industry can be a pretty cruel world. For taking your own place in fashion industry, it is not enough to be very creative, you must be a strong, hard-working person obsessed with your ideas and visions to be a designer. Only such a person can start their own label and enter this competitive industry. I believe the fashion industry is campaigning for boutique labels and recognizing emerging talents, but it really depends on the country where you start. For example, in my country, in Azerbaijan Fashion industry is very young and isn’t campaigning enough for recogniturn of new talents.

Q. Who is your ideal customer?

My ideal customer is a 22-30 year old woman, who is young, beautiful and sexy. She loves the world and loves people. She is open minded and always feels free in doing what she loves to do and she never does what she doesn’t want to do. She is absolutely free in her heart. Men love her and she likes that.

Q. Have you any plans to collaborate with other labels or brands?

I haven’t really thought about it yet, maybe in the future.

Q. What has been your most memorable success to date?

The most memorable success was the presentation of my capsule collection in Paris. Every young designer who lives with the idea to be a fashion designer has a big dream to present his/her own collection in Paris, and it was amazing that my dream came true.

Q. What has been the most challenging stage when bringing your fashion label into the industry?

The most challenging stage was to start, because as I have said before, fashion industry in Azerbaijan is a very young industry, and when I started my career, there wasn’t any fashion platform. It was something new both for me and for my country, so it was definitely a challenge.
